Here’s some news that GPT-5 pushed off the front pages.

Wolters Kluwer has signed a content licensing agreement with Harvey for its US and German Legal & Regulatory data. The move follows a deal with LexisNexis and is part of a broader Harvey plan to connect to multiple legal data sources worldwide.

Martin O’Malley, CEO of Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory, said: ‘This relationship complements our existing focus on building AI-centric products for our legal customers that enhance their productivity. Partnering with Harvey, and others, will provide customers with a broad range of solutions.’

Winston Weinberg, CEO of Harvey, added: ‘Having access to trusted data sources is absolutely critical to the global firms and customers we support, and Wolters Kluwer is world-class in their emphasis on quality and trust. Harvey users in Germany and the US will benefit immediately from the addition of their robust data, and we look forward to exploring further collaboration with Wolters Kluwer.’

In short, if you thought that the Lexis deal was the only data strategy Harvey is pursuing, then think again. And no doubt others will follow.

US law firm Ropes & Gray has expanded its partnership with Hebbia, which has pioneered genAI-based analysis of large-scale, complex deal document sets, initially for banks and finance teams, and now also for the legal market.

The platform enables fund formation and deal teams to ‘identify key provisions, analyze precedents, and uncover critical insights from vast amounts of information with speed, and a higher precision than provided by traditional RAG-based LLM platforms’, they said.

The practice technology team at Ropes & Gray – led by Winston Burt and Theresa Spartichino – have partnered with Hebbia to design and implement custom workflows tailored to the unique needs of specific practices, teams, and clients.

Melissa Bender, an asset management partner, said: ‘By integrating Hebbia into our fund workflows, we can elevate the way we handle document review, transaction points and precedent analysis – ensuring our clients receive best-in-class service in every matter.’

Ropes & Gray’s deal teams will also use the tool to accelerate data extraction, assess market trends, and support negotiation strategies, enabling the firm to deliver an even higher level of responsiveness and strategic counsel, they added.

George Sivulka, CEO and Founder of Hebbia, commented: ‘Ropes & Gray is redefining how leading law firms apply AI in transactional work. By incorporating deeper and more accurate research into their workflows at scale, they are setting a new benchmark for speed, accuracy, and client service in deal execution.’

Litera, which is owned by Hg Capital, has made ‘a strategic investment’ in CRM company Postilize, that will see the launch of Foundation Proactive, powered by Postilize.

Postilize helps firms ‘detect client events early, personalize outreach in each partner’s authentic voice, and maintain clean, up-to-date CRM data without manual effort’. Unlike traditional ERM tools, Postilize is embedded in lawyers’ daily workflows through Outlook, LinkedIn, CRM and mobile integrations, they added

Via the partnership Litera customers can now use Postilize’s Signals and Messaging in tandem with Foundation Peppermint and Foundation Marketing to automatically:

Capture high-impact events pertaining to a client

Identify the firm’s strongest relationships with that client

Create customized outbound messages relevant to those relationships and stylized in a particular partner’s tone. (AL Note: figuring out which ‘tone’ partners use that has a positive impact will be interesting…guessing that the really grumpy ones may not do so well….)

Automated Email Response Handling: Accelerates resolution times by triaging and responding to support requests instantly.

Self-Service via Microsoft Teams: Attorneys can access immediate assistance without leaving their workflow.

Trellis has announced its Q3 product updates, introducing new AI-powered features now embedded throughout the legal research platform. It includes:

‘AI tools are now embedded across Smart Search, case pages, and document views—helping legal teams quickly analyze filings, extract key takeaways, and uncover relevant patterns without switching tool.

Draft Arguments – Start your Motion to Dismiss or MSJ by using Trellis AI to surface the most relevant and accurate arguments for each COA in your case, based on thousands of filed motions with similar facts and legal theories.

Instantly access deep analysis on any litigation attorney in the country, including motion history, trial posture, settlement patterns, and discovery strategy—powered by data from their actual case record.

Find the most relevant sample motions for your specific case by matching causes of action and facts, then use AI to uncover deeper insights from how similar cases were argued and structured.

Automatically generate a complete case strategy the moment a new lawsuit is filed – drawing on similar cases, causes of action, judge history, and trial court data to surface risk factors, recommended defenses, and strategic next steps from day one.’
