Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School announces a new minor titled “Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Business” that will launch in fall 2025.
Open to juniors and seniors in all majors across Texas A&M, the program will equip students with cutting-edge AI and machine learning skills essential for modern business leadership.
The minor, featuring five specialized courses taught by leading AI faculty at Mays, combines hands-on experience with practical applications of artificial intelligence in business settings. The curriculum includes generative AI, business storytelling, machine learning, multimodal AI agents, and deep learning applications.
As the business world rapidly evolves through artificial intelligence, Mays Business School will lead higher education in preparing principled leaders who can harness these transformative technologies.

Sharp. “This new minor exemplifies our commitment to developing leaders of character who will drive innovation and create positive impact through the responsible application of AI in business.”
To qualify, students must be a junior or senior with a 3.0 or better overall GPA and have completed at least 12 credit hours as a Texas A&M student. The courses will be taught fully online in eight-week sessions, designed to accommodate students’ schedules while maintaining the highest standards of quality and academic rigor.
This initiative further strengthens Mays’ position as a leader in business education innovation, following the recent appointment of its first assistant dean for artificial intelligence, the development of two AI-focused competitions for undergraduate students and doctoral candidates, and a groundbreaking partnership with AI search engine Perplexity.
