(Yicai) May 13 — Tencent Cloud, the cloud service provider of Chinese internet giant Tencent Holdings, said it has linked arms with Offshore to assist the core technology unit of public relations giant Vector Group in launching an artificial intelligence avatar video generation service specially designed for the Japanese market.
Tencent Cloud has integrated its intelligent digital avatar solution with Offshore’s localized user insights to release AvaMo, the Shenzhen-based firm announced yesterday. The service enables the “one-click generation” of professional-level advertisement videos, which can cut production time and cost by 98 percent, it added.
The smart tech of Tencent Cloud can generate a high-fidelity digital avatar using a short video sample of two to three minutes, supporting real-time interaction. AvaMo’s digital avatars have delicate expressions, natural gestures, and high-fidelity movements, with the time needed to produce a 30-second video compressed to 15 minutes from 12 hours, while the cost has been cut to JPY2,400 from JPY120,000 (USD16.35 from USD817).
In addition, Tencent Cloud and Offshore have implemented a dual review mechanism of AI and humans to ensure data security and prevent the abuse of digital avatar services.
The intelligent digital avatar technology of Tencent Cloud uses AI voice interaction and virtual image model generation and has been applied at scale in media, education, exhibition services, and other areas.
Offshore has several independently developed solutions in AI content production and is led by Kenta Noro, the chief technology officer of Vector, the sixth-largest PR firm worldwide and the largest in Asia. The new tie-up combines its and Tencent Cloud’s strengths and reconstructs the digital content production paradigm in various fields, including advertising and marketing, customer service, and online education.
The global AI video generation market is experiencing rapid growth, reaching USD4.1 billion last year, while it will likely top USD62.8 billion in 2034, with an annual compound growth rate of 31 percent, according to data from Market Research Future.
However, the application of AI video technology is still in its infancy in Japan, with existing international services lacking in-depth adaptation to the Japanese language and local cultural elements.
