It is a blue wave across Southern Alberta with local Conservative Party of Canada candidates being projected, or currently leading in their races for a seat in thethe House of Commons.
While the count continues in the Lethbridge, Foothills, Bow River and Medicine Hat – Cardston – Warner ridings, the votes counted so far have for the majority been for the Conservative candidates.
As of 9 p.m. in Lethbridge 61 out of 256 polls are reporting with Conservative incumbent Rachel Thomas receiving 12,289 votes, roughly 7,000 votes more than Liberal candidate Chris Spearman who has 5,886 votes.
In the Foothills, 75 out of 269 polls are reporting, with Conservative incumbent John Barlow receiving 11,584 votes nearly 9,000 more than Liberal Candidate John Bruinsma.
In the Medicine Hat – Carston – Warner Riding 75 out of 213 polls are reporting, with Conservative candidate Glen Motz reported to have received 14,202, around 11,000 votes more than Liberal Candidate Tom Rooke.
Bow River has 60 out of 221 polls reporting, with Conservative Candidate David Best receiving 12,208 votes, up 10,000 votes from Liberal Candidate Bentley Barnes.
In all four ridings votes continue to be counted and reported.
