PwC + Integreon Partner For AI-Powered ALSP Move – Artificial Lawyer

After what seemed like a drop off of interest at Big Four firm PwC in growing their own legal process group, they will now collaborate with ALSP Integreon and together leverage ContractPodAI’s Leah genAI contract tool. (See In-depth AL Interview with Subroto Mukerji, CEO of Integreon.)

Integreon and PwC both already work with ContractPodAI, but this is the first time they have signed a deal focused on EMEA law firms and corporate legal departments.

Gabriel Buigas at Integreon explained: ‘We use Leah to automate much of the contract negotiation process from playbooks to redlines to easily insert acceptable fallback language. All of which will increasingly lead to per unit-based pricing as opposed to traditional hourly or FTE models.’

The partnership shows that although PwC may have changed how it approaches this field, it still wants to play within it, albeit in this case via a hook-up with a large and well-known ALSP.

In short, this brings together three things:

PwC’s huge client reach and plenty of process know-how;

the contract-focused genAI skills of ContractPodAI, which is a CLM company at heart;

and the ALSP resources of Integreon.

Is this a big deal? Well, AL has been banging the drum for ALSPs to get deeply into AI since the old days, as they are specialised businesses made for handling process legal work at scale, and so when you add automation (e.g. via AI) you can get great results.

But, few did it for contract needs. In fact, some kept on charging by the billable hour and in effect were a slimmed down, ‘budget version’ of a law firm – rather than seeking to build something truly different and operate with different ideals.

In which case this is a powerful combination of talent, market reach and AI technology, all aimed at one thing: handling high volume and / or high frequency contracts. The net result should hopefully be a more efficient service for clients, and one would hope also create some cost savings.

So, this is a move in the right direction. And as the firms said: ‘[We] can work as one team, ensuring the highest quality and efficiency of services underpinned by the most advanced legal technologies.’

Frederic Mirza Khanian, PwC Global Legal Business Solutions Leader, added: ‘Through our collaboration with Integreon, we are able to deliver significant benefits and drive real impact for clients by delivering high-quality, Legal Managed Services at scale. This is an exciting opportunity for us to serve the evolving needs of our clients.’

In-Depth AL Interview with Subroto Mukerji, CEO of Integreon.

Why do this now? Has this been driven by the rise of genAI? (As opposed to the older NLP / ML tech.)

This is very much a case of the right place, right time. With growing demand across EMEA for the scalable and secure delivery of genAI-enabled legal services, our collaboration is perfectly timed. Together, we can help law firms and corporate legal departments harness the power of genAI more quickly, confidently, and effectively.

Do ALSPs need to reinvent themselves given how AI is disrupting things?

For Integreon, it’s not about reinvention—it’s about continuous evolution. Integrating the right technologies to deliver better outcomes is part of our DNA. ALSPs that fail to adapt or lack the talent trained in emerging technologies like genAI will inevitably fall behind. As genAI started gaining traction, Integreon was already ahead, training our teams and embedding the tools into real-world service delivery.

Will PwC acquire Integreon? (I.e. is this step 1 before step 2?)

No, that’s not part of this initiative. This collaboration is focused on addressing a real and immediate need in the EMEA legal services market. It’s about delivering value through innovation and expertise, not about ownership or acquisition.

Do you think the clients (i.e. in-house legal teams) see value in using ALSPs that have AI?

Absolutely, but it goes beyond cost savings. In-house legal teams are under pressure to do more with less, and genAI is a clear enabler. The challenge is that most teams don’t have the capacity, expertise, or time to vet and implement these technologies themselves. That’s where ALSPs like Integreon add real value—we’ve already done the heavy lifting. We’ve identified proven solutions, trained our teams, and delivered AI-powered results across a range of use cases. For clients, it’s a fast track to value—with lower risk.
