OpenAI’s text-to-image generator feature on ChatGPT is now being rolled out to Meta’s messaging platform WhatsApp.
Making the announcement on X/Twitter, OpenAI stated, “ChatGPT image generation is now available in WhatsApp via 1-800-ChatGPT.” It further added in a follow up tweet, “Don’t forget to link your ChatGPT account to 1-800-ChatGPT in WhatsApp to get more image generations.” Basically
“You have to message the 1-800-ChatGPT number on WhatsApp with “Link my WhatsApp with ChatGPT” and it will reply with a link,” a user explained in the comments.
WhatsApp already is equipped with native text-to-image generator courtesy the MetaAI. Taking a dig on ChatGPT image generation feature’s integration on WhatsApp, rival PerplexityAI remarked,

Meanwhile here’s how the users on social media reacted. One user took a cheeky dig posting Mark Zuckerberg’s infamous Metaverse avatar. Several users shared their ChatGPT AI-generated images on WhatsApp. One user requested ChatGPT to fix their yellowish tint in the images, while other users suggested they tackle it with proper prompt. “Thank you for empowering more slop,” yet another user quipped.
