The launch ceremony of the Global Special Competition of the 3rd National Artificial Intelligence Application Scenario Innovation Challenge 2025 – AI Agent, hosted by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, was held at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou). This event, hailed by the industry as the “Grand Opening Ceremony of the Heroic Era in the First Year of AI Agent”, kicked off with inspiring blessing videos from seven global leaders in their respective fields, including Andrew Ng, You Xiaohu, Zhou Hongyi, Yang Ning, Zhu Xiaohu, Xu Biao, and Miao Yufeng, infusing a powerful boost of confidence into the global participating teams of the competition!

The new era begins. AI Agent is the “ticket” to a trillion – dollar market.

China now boasts the world’s richest application scenarios and data assets. As a crucial part of the unprecedented changes in a century for China and the world, AI Agent will usher in an unprecedented new era and enable a new generation of promising young people. At the beginning of the launch ceremony, Professor Ni Mingxuan, the President of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), stated in his speech, “We are standing on the eve of an explosion in AI Agent applications. The AI era is not about who can write better code, but about our ability to discover and create – whether we can propose better algorithms, new model architectures, or expand the boundaries of our technical theories.” Dai Yongbo, the Co – Chair of the Organizing Committee of the Global Special Competition of AI Agent, added, “Overseas Chinese scientists are globally competitive in agent architecture design and scenario innovation. Strengthening innovation under technological blockades and promoting global in – depth cooperation, the innovative power of overseas Chinese emerging from this competition proves that we are fully capable of leading the next – generation AI Agent field.”

Mr. Yang Ning, a member of the Jury Presidium of the Global Special Competition of AI Agent, who founded China’s first – generation portal website, ChinaRen.com, and was the CEO of one of China’s first US – listed companies, candidly said, “The HTTP era of AI Agent has arrived. Currently, agents are like websites in the Internet era. Standing at the forefront of the era, they will become the biggest wealth – creating field in the next decade. From a capital perspective, the organizers of the Global Special Competition of AI Agent have far exceeded expectations in terms of the exploration of technological depth and the maturity of the commercialization chain. We see that young teams, empowered by the competition, can accurately identify industrial pain points – this is not only a technological competition but also a global ‘ticket to the trillion – dollar market’ that capital is vying for.”

Dai Yongbo, the Co – Chair of the Organizing Committee of the Global Special Competition of AI Agent, emphasized the determination to empower the platform: “The core value of a high – level competition lies in ‘continuously providing blood’ for the participating teams. We will provide four – stage support for the winning teams: closed – door roadshows with top – tier venture capital firms, limited access to industrial capital, cross – border technology cooperation channels, and special fund support, enabling the innovative power of overseas Chinese to seamlessly connect with the global market.”

“As a participating team, the Yulan WANXIANG AI Agent team has deeply felt the strong support from the competition’s organizing committee,” said the team leader. “Since the registration opened on July 21st, the Executive Chair of the Organizing Committee of the Global Special Competition of AI Agent personally called to learn more about our project. Throughout the entire competition process, the organizing committee was deeply involved in the optimization of our project. They proposed and sorted out the thinking direction for user stories, designed clear story cards for this purpose, and provided very professional guidance on business logic for the core competitiveness of our product, helping us create a business plan for our product.”

“Thanks to the professional assistance from the organizing committee this time,” the leader emphasized, “our team has a clearer idea about expanding into the target industry and accurately positioning core customers based on our powerful technology platform. At the same time, our ability to ‘tell a good story’ in the capital market has also been greatly improved.”

“It can be said that for us, this is truly the crucial first step in transforming high – end technology into future commercial hegemony,” the leader concluded. “Here, we would like to express our special gratitude to the Organizing Committee of AI Agent 2025 for their valuable support and guidance!”

Helping young entrepreneurs open up dual channels for financing and commercialization

“From the time of registration to before the start of the online competition, the organizing committee has proactively connected us with two investment institutions,” Dr. Dai Xili, the founder of the WitMani project of the HKUST Youth AI Agent, candidly said at the launch ceremony. “As early – stage entrepreneurs, we urgently need capital to accelerate the implementation of our monetization model. Today, the organizing committee has put us on a stage facing 20 investment institutions – this is the key fulcrum for leveraging the commercial future.”

A photo of Mr. Yan Bojun’s speech

Yan Bojun, a science and technology blogger with tens of millions of followers, also brought his participating project, Lucien – AI, which confirms another dimension of breakthrough in the competition. “Our product has never lacked attention,” Yan Bojun said. “But how to convert traffic into sustainable commercial applications? The organizing committee of the competition has provided an accurate answer: by connecting us with the procurement channels of universities, we can be the first to achieve a closed – loop in the commercialization of educational agents, truly closing the loop from ‘being highly regarded for technology’ to ‘commercial implementation’.”

“We should prevent young people’s creativity from being stifled due to financing or limited scenarios,” emphasized the Executive Chair of the competition’s organizing committee. “What we have built is not just a competition venue, but an accelerator for technology monetization. When capital, scenarios, and youth creativity converge here, scientific research results can truly come to fruition.”

Taking the global launch ceremony as the first stop, the 2025 3rd China Artificial Intelligence Application Scenario Innovation Challenge – Global Special Competition of AI Agent (abbreviated as: AI Agent 2025) hopes that technological creativity, capital leverage, and industrial scenarios will be deeply integrated on the competition platform. China is bound to become the country that triggers the singularity of the agent revolution! At this moment, various participating teams are drawing empowering strength from the competition, writing a footnote for the blue – ocean era of AI wealth – creation – and this is just the first magnificent stroke in the great prelude of the AI era opened by the Global Special Competition of AI Agent.
