OpenAI has sued Elon Musk for “trying every tool available to harm” the artificial intelligence (AI) company.
In an appeal filed on Wednesday, April 10th, the company also asked a federal judge to restrict Musk for “further unlawful and unfair action”
Last month, the lawsuit filed in a federal district court restricted the tech billionaire from stopping the nonprofit to shift into a for-profit organisation and is now demanding penal damages for Musk’s actions.
As per the court documents, OpenAI stated , “Through press attacks, malicious campaigns broadcast to Musk’s more than 200 million followers on the social media platform he controls, a pretextual demand for corporate records, harassing legal claims, and a sham bid for OpenAI’s assets, Musk has tried every tool available to harm OpenAI.”
It added, “Musk’s continued attacks on OpenAI, culminating most recently in the fake takeover bid designed to disrupt OpenAI’s future, must cease.”
The legal battle will move to trial in spring 2026.
Musl’s legal team quickly responded to the allegation and defended the takeover bid.
Moreover, it accused OpenAI for the breach of its obligations.
