Meta AI to use John Cena, Judy Dench and Kristen Bell’s voice for its upcoming audio feature

Meta has been working to improve its AI capabilities day after day. In the latest update, the company is all set to reveal the list of actors that will voice its upcoming audio features. According to Reuters, Meta will release the names of five actors, including John Cena, Judy Dench and Kristen Bell, who are giving voice to the new Meta AI assistant. Meta’s audio features will allow users to choose a voice for their digital assistant. Sounds familiar? Yes, the feature is similar to the OpenAI’s ChatGPT voice mode, but with less controversy so far. As per the report, Awkwafina and Keegan-Michael Key are also on the list. The feature will include several generic voice options as well.

The social media giant will showcase audio enhancements for its AI assistant at its annual Connect conference, commencing Wednesday. At this year’s Connect conference, Meta is anticipated to debut its inaugural augmented-reality glasses and outline its future plans for hardware devices, including updates on its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, which pioneered the integration of Meta’s audio AI chatbot.

Meta AI audio mode: Everything we know

Previously, we had reported that Meta will bring the ChatGPT-like to its AI models and integrate the same into WhatsApp. The addition of public figure voices to Meta AI can enhance user engagement, as familiar and inspiring voices can make interactions more enjoyable and captivating, allowing users to connect with voices they admire or find motivating. But will it include languages other than English? Right now the feature is under development, hence it is highly unlikely that the first version of the feature will include any other language. Moreover, it has been reported that celebrity voices will start launching in the US and other English-speaking markets this week across Meta’s family of apps, which includes Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.

But, as it will evolve, there are high chances that the feature will include languages like Hindi and more to cater the global audience.

It has been reported earlier that the voices are more likely to differ in pitch and tone. Meta AI will offer a range of voice options to suit individual preferences, including three distinct UK voices and two US voices, varying in pitch and tone. This allows users to choose a voice that resonates with their regional accent, personal taste, or preferred tone, enabling a more tailored and personalised interaction with the chatbot.

Meta’s AI assistant currently supports text-based conversations and image generation based on user inputs. Previously, the company explored incorporating celebrity personas, such as Paris Hilton and Snoop Dogg, into the chatbot, but this initiative didn’t seem to resonate with users, leading to a shift in focus.
