A couple of noteworthy moves for you now. Legatics, the legal transaction management platform, has hired Rob MacAdam as Chief Product Officer. He was previously a director of product at well-known ALSP Elevate.
Meanwhile, Tyson Ballard, who previously was with tech consultancy Syke, has created his own legal tech and legal ops consultancy, (see more below).
In terms of the Legatics hire, MacAdam is a very experienced legal tech expert and has held roles at Pinsent Masons, Ashurst, HighQ, Thomson Reuters, Onit, BusyLamp, as well as Elevate.
Legatics said: ‘His deep understanding of the challenges faced by transactional lawyers, combined with a proven track record in product strategy, marketing, and go-to-market execution, makes him a valuable addition to the executive team.’
MacAdam commented: ‘I know first-hand how frustrating and chaotic transaction management can be – it’s what first drew me into legal tech. But 10 years on, there’s still huge potential to transform how lawyers manage transactions.’
Legatics has also hired Bilal Chaudhry as VP of Sales, who has worked at Lupl and Litera previously.
Daniel Porus, Chief Commercial Officer at Legatics, added: ‘It is exciting to add two new members to the leadership team who deeply understand both the legal industry and what it takes to drive meaningful innovation. Rob and Bilal bring exactly the kind of insight, energy, and executional strength that will help us scale globally while staying laser-focused on delivering value to our customers.’

Now back to Tyson Ballard who has created Stella Legal.
He told AL: ‘Let’s face it: in-house legal teams are under more pressure than ever. Shrinking budgets. Rising complexity. Tech overload. That’s where we come in.
‘It’s not just about contracts. It’s about helping legal teams become modern, data-driven, and impactful. We’re bringing Silicon Valley speed and user experience to legal transformation.’
The Stella group will operate in a partnership with US-based Strategic Business Solutions. And the Stella team now includes legal ops experts: Yolanda Van Wyk, Alyssa Kokilah, and Gordon Williams., they said. They will focus on:
AI Enablement
Contract Excellence
Legal Operations and Spend.
Ballard was a senior VP at Syke until December last year.
