Lexroom, one of only a small number of Italian legal tech startups and now a contender in the genAI productivity platform wars, has gained $19m in a Series A round led by Base10 Partners, along with multiple other investors.
The company, founded in 2023 by Paolo Fois, Martina Domenicali, and Andrea Lonza, (pictured), supports lawyers and corporate legal teams in legal research, drafting, and advisory. In short, it’s a broad genAI platform that offers a very wide range of ‘skills’. (See below: module approach and also library function, drafting, search and more.)

While you have heard of Legora from Sweden, and also Newcode.ai from Norway, and others across the EU, such as Germany’s Noxtua, you may not yet have heard of Lexroom. Well, it seems like we will be hearing a lot more about them.
In the past six months, the startup has tripled its client base and doubled its team, with expansion already underway in Germany and an imminent launch in Spain, they said.
Just six months after a $2m Seed round led by Entourage, the Italian startup has already doubled its workforce and tripled its customer base. Today it stands among the fastest-growing startups in Italy, they added.
Fois, CEO and co-founder, commented: ‘The legal industry is undergoing a revolution. With this round we will accelerate international growth and build the future of the legal profession with AI at its core.’
Rexhi Dollaku, General Partner at Base10 Partners, added: ‘Lexroom is transforming one of the largest and most tradition-bound industries with a product that lawyers actually love using. Paolo, Martina, and Andrea bring an impressive mix of deep legal expertise and product vision, and in just a short time have shown how AI can meaningfully change the way legal work gets done. We’re proud to be partnering with them as they set a new standard for AI in the legal sector.’
These folks have been under the UK and US legal tech radar, perhaps because of their focus on Europe. But, with this raise they will start to get more widely known. Looking forward to hearing more and seeing how they grow.
You can find more about them here. And here’s a short video by the team.
