UNTITLED at 3 Freeman Alley is a hidden haven among the hustle and bustle of the Lower East Side neighborhood of Manhattan. To find it, simply follow the vibrant graffitied alleyway.

The unique property, operated by GPG Hospitality, is bold, forward-thinking hotel set amongst the ever-evolving Freeman Alley that was once a coffin factory. Today, it’s a thriving hospitable hideaway that hosts pop-up exhibitions and rotating murals.

“UNTITLED’s unique location on Freeman Alley leads our guests to encounter one of New York street art’s most iconic destinations. The ever-changing nature of the vibrant street-art hub inspired our design choices. We opted for a more muted palette within the hotel to create a sense of calm as guests transition from the lively streets into the serene atmosphere of our lobby,” explained Gadi Peleg, founder of GPG Hospitality. “Even our name, UNTITLED, encourages guests to craft their own personalized New York experience,”

The gallery space is an 170 person capacity event and co-working area that showcases vibrant works from local creatives, including photographer JDXm painter Amanda Wall, and mixed-media specialist Ana Garces Kiley. Extending to the Bowery Garden, more inspiring artwork can be enjoyed. The garden boasts a runner designed by former marine-turned-artist 7 Liner designed a runner that combines various versions of calligraphy found throughout his travels. If guests look up, they will be met with an outline of heroines 30 feet above the ground by artist Dylan Egon.

Each of the 200 guestrooms are designed to be minimalistic, boasting an understated luxury vibe with a neutral color palette throughout. Many feature breathtaking views of New York City’s skyline.

“Our interiors create an urban oasis, with touches that offer spaciousness and a sense of calm, while still acknowledging the visual abundance of Freeman Alley. The carefully curated murals in the lobby and at our rooftop bar nod to the art movement taking place on the other side of the wall,” he continued. “Moving from the energetic street to the lobby, guests can then ascend to UNLISTED, a rooftop space featuring soft velvet furnishings and warm jewel tones, providing a comfortable retreat with sparkling city views. It is an oasis within an oasis.”

Tucked beside UNTILTED is Freemans Restaurant, a quaint bar and eatery where Taylor Swift reportedly hosted her star-studded birthday party in December 2023.
