IBM has fired around 8,000 people. Most of the people who lost their jobs were from the Human Resources team. This is part of a big re-organisation happening at IBM. It’s not just about saving money, it’s a strategy change.

The main reason for this change is the rise of Artificial Intelligence. IBM is using AI to do tasks quicker and work more smoothly. AI is also changing job roles and how teams are structured. In HR, AI is now doing things like recruitment, employee management, and making decisions. Because of this, some HR jobs are no longer needed, which led to layoffs.

This shows a big trend in the industry, companies are using AI more in day-to-day work. IBM’s case is just one example of how AI is changing workplaces all over.

Workers now need to learn new skills to keep up with these tech changes. Being flexible and digitally smart is now super important in the modern job market. The whole situation means that companies will keep changing their teams as tech keeps improving.
