As you may have seen, Heathrow airport is closed all day (Friday) due to a major incident and the knock-on delays to 1,000s of flights from the UK will be felt right into next week, (including AL’s Monday flight, which has the ‘Delayed’ sign, but with no other info available). So, if you’re in New York and waiting for some Brits to turn up next week….they may be late. I’ll keep you posted.
Plus, AL was planning on taking something of an Editorial Holiday next week so people could be the main focus while in-person at Legal Week, but if we’re all stuck in London for the next few days, then AL may as well continue as usual in terms of articles, at least until I can get a flight to the Big Apple – which I’m guessing may not be until later in the week now. Let’s see how things go.

Clifford Chance Expands Its Wexler Roll-Out
Global firm Clifford Chance is extending its partnership with Wexler. The firm has been piloting the tool for six months and has ‘seen promising results in fact extraction, chronology creation, Q&A functionality over a corpus of documents and inconsistency mapping’.
The platform now offers:
‘Advanced fact extraction and analysis: The system can process up to 500,000 documents simultaneously, identifying critical facts and connections that might otherwise remain hidden.
Chronology creation: Lawyers collaborate with wexler.ai to create chronologies from thousands of documents. Wexler’s workflow allows lawyers to understand the decisions leading to which facts are deemed relevant, helping them to get to grips with complex matters, collaborating to reach final output.
Inconsistency mapping: uncover contradictions and inconsistencies between testimony and evidence, helping ‘crack the case’, prepare for cross examination and build case strategy.’

CaseBlink, an AI startup focused on immigration law, has secured $2m in pre-seed funding led by Tower Research Ventures, leading VCs, and immigration firms, including Fakhoury Global Immigration.
CaseBlink helps with ‘end-to-end AI automation that streamlines case preparation, enhances efficiency, and improves outcomes for clients’. The company recently announced the launch of Studio, the industry’s first fully customizable AI drafting tool designed specifically for immigration attorneys.
