Gemini is getting even more powerful as Google has rolled out the AI assistant’s all-new video generation feature.
The new video generation feature will be powered by the company’s all-new Veo 2, the tech giant’s latest text-to-video model. Paid subscribers can generate up to eight-second videos at 720p resolution using simple prompts. Currently, Google states that the more details the prompt includes, the better the video will be. According to Android Headlines, the output will be an MP4 file in a 16:9 ratio.
Users can access the feature by clicking on the dropdown menu within the model. After each video is generated, a share button allows users to quickly upload it to platforms like TikTok and YouTube. Currently, the feature is available on the Gemini website and the app.
Gemini Video joins the ever-growing market of high-quality AI generators, including the leaders in the AI industry, OpenAI. The AI tech giant currently has Sora on the market, which is also paid and available through the ChatGPT premium subscription. XAI‘s Grok also includes a video generator feature.
Gemini recently replaced the Google Assistant on mobile devices, and the recently released Pixel 9a received a trimmed-down version of the AI assistant. I haven’t personally tested the AI generator yet, although the test promo that Google showed off on X looks to be really promising.
As mentioned earlier, the feature is only available for Gemini Advanced subscribers, which is currently priced at $26.99 CAD per month.
