Byte-Sized Brief
Google updates Gemini with better photo editing.
It keeps likeness consistent across multiple edits.
All images are watermarked as AI-generated.
AI photo editing usually stumbles when it comes to faces. The smallest tweak can make your dog look like a stranger or give your kid an oddly unfamiliar expression. Google’s latest Gemini update is supposed to fix that by keeping people and pets recognizable across every edit. Now, when you give your friend a retro hairstyle or place your cat in a new scene, they should still look like themselves instead of some off-brand version. Your edited photos can also be fed back into the app to create videos.
To use this Google DeepMind image editing model, either add some text instructions to a single image or upload multiple photos to blend them or mix styles. The update is rolling out now in the Gemini app. Google is also marking every image with a visible watermark and its hidden SynthID tag to make it clear that the content is AI-made. This is to help you experiment freely while still being transparent about how the pictures were created.
The Bottom Line
Google’s latest Gemini update enhances AI photo editing by preserving the natural appearance of faces and pets. Every edited image also carries a watermark to show it was generated with artificial intelligence.
