Hundreds of items from filmmaker David Lynch’s personal estate are being auctioned by Julien’s in Los Angeles, with online bidding already exceeding $56,000. Nearly 450 lots are included in the sale, which spans Lynch’s career and features movie props, musical gear, Polaroids, and more. The sale will officially end on June 18.

Lynch, a filmmaker known for features such as Blue Velvet and Mulholland Drive, died in January at the age of 78 after being diagnosed with emphysema. He also produced paintings that were exhibited widely at museums.

Among the top-performing items in the Julien’s sale is Lynch’s personal director’s chair, customized with his name on the back. Bidding for it has reached $15,000. A red curtain hanging over a black-and-white zigzag floor that appeared in Lynch’s 1990 TV series Twin Peaks is currently at $2,750. A photo of a nuclear explosion used in the series’ sequel, Twin Peaks: The Return, has also reached $6,000.

Other standout pieces include Lynch’s personal 35mm print of Eraserhead, his 1977 debut feature, which is currently at $7,000. A vintage boomerang sofa, similar to one used in Lost Highway, is at $4,500. A signed edition of a Man Ray photograph depicting an unknown subject’s hands has reached $3,500.

The sale also includes instruments Lynch played within a personal studio in his home. A custom five-neck Ferrington guitar and a Roland synthesizer paired are priced between $3,000 and $8,000.

The total value of the lots is expected to rise as final bids close this weekend. The auction is held in collaboration with Turner Classic Movies as part of a series dedicated to major figures who worked in film and television.
