Coheso, an AI-powered legal front door and work management platform for inhouse legal and compliance teams, is launching what it calls a universal CLM connector. It will provide ‘seamless integration and granular data mapping’ with contract management providers.
By doing this it allows Coheso – (which has the job of showing inhouse teams exactly what’s going on inside their work streams) – ‘to be leveraged seamlessly throughout CLM systems, kicking off downstream processes and populating contract templates’.
And it works in the other direction and ‘pulls important data back into Coheso’s work management module for a centralized view of legal requests of all types’.
Ned Gannon, CEO and Co-founder of Coheso, commented: ‘In-house legal teams are being asked to move faster, collaborate more closely with the business, and deliver greater strategic impact – all while managing growing complexity. With our new universal CLM connector, we’re closing critical gaps between intake, triage, and contract generation, ensuring that legal teams can maintain control while accelerating business workflows and enabling smoother collaboration.’

The announcement follows a strategic investment from Tola Capital, signaling strong conviction in Coheso’s vision to transform legal work through AI and fundamentally reshape legal workflows. Tola Capital – recognized for backing high-growth enterprise software companies – joins existing investors Crew Capital, Character, FirsthandVC, Carnegie Mellon University, and a group of strategic angels to fuel the next stage of Coheso’s growth and innovation.

– Why do this now? Why is this needed?
Like many of the most valuable features in Coheso’s legal front door and work management platform, the development of the Universal CLM Connector was driven by the requests of our clients. Coheso functions as a single pane of glass through which legal teams can prioritize, delegate, track, and process all types of legal requests. For those requests related to contracts specifically, it naturally makes sense for the Coheso platform to granularly map data to CLM systems to kick off downstream contractual processes.
Clients can now leverage Coheso to be the single-source of truth for all the legal department’s work, ranging from one-off questions to large projects, while providing a two-way sync with other systems that they may use, including CLMs. As legal tech stacks become more complex, a single AI-powered workflow engine like Coheso can simplify processes and provide actionable data on legal department activities.
– How is Coheso going?
Things are super busy and going very well. We’re in that really fun period in the life of a startup where we’re heads down building, selling, and rapidly iterating on all fronts. It’s great to see the product resonating with so many in-house legal teams and we’re nimble enough to take into account many client suggestions and work them into our roadmap.
Travel has also been keeping me on my toes. I was recently in Abu Dhabi to meet with a new client and then in Kolkata to onboard a number of strong engineering hires and to attend the weddings of two of my co-founders, each a week apart.
– Do you see an evolution in the way inhouse teams see change projects? Is there more hunger there?
As you know, I’ve been in the space for some time and I definitely feel in-house teams are much more focused now on optimizing internal processes and evaluating new technology. AI is empowering in-house legal teams but it’s also increasing the number of inbound requests as other departments within the enterprise become more productive. Layer on top of this the challenges for global companies of operating in a rapidly evolving and highly uncertain regulatory environment and in-house legal teams are looking for ways to accelerate the achievement of business objectives while simultaneously mitigating risk.
The key is not adopting AI just for the sake of adopting AI but really thinking through how it fits into current processes, empowers attorneys, addresses bottlenecks, and accelerates business velocity. As I mentioned, we’ve seen in-house legal teams adopt Coheso early in their journey because not only is the platform easy to implement and can deliver quick wins, but it also provides data on how work is flowing through the department, which can highlight where other tools can have an outsized impact.
– Where next for Coheso?
We’re rapidly embedding more agentic capabilities into our legal front door and work management framework. Attorneys remain in full control while amplifying their impact throughout the organization. We’re excited to share more on this in the coming months.
We’ll also continue to expand our client base throughout the US and EMEA as well as look to bring on additional talent in both technical and client-facing roles.
It’s an incredibly dynamic time in the space and we feel super fortunate to be helping to drive this legal industry transformation.
Thanks, Ned and good luck!
