US law firm Fried Frank has brought aboard Centari, the deal intelligence platform that just raised a fresh round of capital.

Conan Hines, Fried Frank’s Director of Practice Innovation, commented: ‘The legal tech landscape is crowded with tools that make big promises but lack the substance for high-stakes legal work. We believe true innovation is built on substance, not just speed. This partnership validates our belief that the right technology can amplify our collaborative way of working while maintaining the pragmatic, business-oriented service that defines our practice.’

Centari’s Deal Reasoning Engine uses proprietary model orchestration and document processing to transform deal documents into high-fidelity, actionable insights. Fried Frank worked directly with Centari to shape the strategic direction of the product, they added.

Kevin Walker, CEO and founder of Centari, concluded: ‘We are incredibly proud that our platform is now a core part of Fried Frank’s strategy to deliver superior, data-driven outcomes for their clients.’

Alexi, a legal intelligence platform, has launched a Workflow Library, which is a collection of over 100 customizable AI workflows designed to automate high-volume and high-value legal tasks.

It automates legal workflows across transactional and dispute practice areas, and handles areas such as: contract review, ownership & entity analysis, diligence memos, and risk assessments, and also transcript summarization, production analysis, and damage assessment.

Mark Doble, CEO of Alexi, commented: ‘By correctly harnessing the power of foundational models, complex processes can be automated step by step, while maintaining control and oversight in the hands of professionals. This initial launch of the Workflow Library is just the start, with hundreds more workflow automations being delivered to our customers over the coming months.’

And in more Small Law empowerment news, Superpanel, a legal intake platform for plaintiff firms has bagged $5.3m in funding. (By coincidence, Wexler yesterday also raised exactly $5.3m as well….hmmm, curious…)

Superpanel provides a ‘coachable digital teammate that manages intake end-to-end, from first contact through qualification and document collection’. It follows each firm’s specific ‘intake logic, applying criteria such as case type, geography, and required documentation’.

Safeguards are built in: every workflow is auditable, compliant, and escalated to a human when needed. Once a case is qualified, it is handed to staff to build relationships and close, freeing teams from repetitive tasks, they added.

Just shows, the Small Law legal AI evolution is really gaining pace now.

Portuguese legal tech company Legau has just launched a free 8-day email course called ‘Business of Law 101‘.

It covers:

How law firms actually make money

What metrics shape careers (and margins)

Why AI forces a shift in operating + business models

How value-based pricing works

What junior and senior lawyers should focus on

It’s designed to give lawyers something most never get in law school or even during practice: basic literacy in the business side of law. With AI reshaping the profession, we think understanding the economics and operations of firms is more important than ever to prepare for what the future holds, their founder, Luís Alves Dias, told this site.

LegalOn webinar: Agents and Judgment – tomorrow: September 25, 9AM PT / 5PM UK

‘AI Agents in Law: What’s Next for Legal Judgment’ – A free webinar with Artificial Lawyer, LegalOn’s Daniel Lewis, and Bärí A. Williams – September 25, 9AM PT / 5PM UK

AI agents are sprinting into legal practice, offering ‘delegate-not-just-prompt’ workflows and deep research at scale. These systems can now rival junior associates on some tasks, opening the door to unprecedented efficiencies. But as Artificial Lawyer has noted, the profession must take care not to delegate away its core expertise and judgment.

In this live conversation, LegalOn’s Daniel Lewis and Bärí A. Williams join Artificial Lawyer to explore what agentic AI really means for lawyers and legal teams. From onboarding and supervising AI agents, to protecting the skills machines can’t replace, this discussion will tackle the real opportunities and risks with agentic AI.

Join us on September 25th — RSVP to secure your place.

Up for discussion:

Defining agents: What is an ‘AI agent’ in the legal context? How is it different from earlier generations of legal te

Working with agents: What will it look like to onboard, supervise, and ultimately trust AI agents in legal departments?

Balancing efficiency and expertise: How can legal teams sharpen their judgment, creativity, and legal skills as agents handle more routine tasks?

Safeguarding the craft: What competencies or instincts are hardest for AI agents to replicate, and how do you ensure those abilities aren’t lost?

Shaping legal practice: How might agentic AI change perceptions of expertise among lawyers, clients, and the public?

RSVP here to reserve your place.
