Bell Canada and AI startup Cohere formed a strategic partnership to deliver sovereign, secure AI-powered services tailored for Canadian government and enterprise customers. rnment and enterprise customers.
The companies stated the deal includes blending Cohere’s advanced large language models and agentic AI platform with Bell Canada’s sovereign AI infrastructure.
The combined offering gives customers a full-stack AI platform to ensure data security within Canada without having to manage their own infrastructure. Bell Canada’s employees and customers will have access to Cohere’s agentic AI platform.
As part of the partnership, Bell Canada will become Cohere’s preferred Canadian AI infrastructure provider which gives it access to the operator’s data centres and network.
Bell Canada CEO and president Mirko Bibic stated the partnership “will both transform Canadian businesses through cutting edge AI capabilities, while ensuring that the data remains secure and within Canada”.
Financial terms and the length of the agreement were not available.
Nvidia, Oracle, Salesforce and Cisco are investors in Canada-based Cohere.
