Anthropic has recently launched a new feature for its Claude AI chatbot that allows team and enterprise users’ chat history to be automatically remembered. This feature enables Claude to recall previous conversation content without user prompts, thereby better understanding user needs and preferences.
Currently, this new feature is only available to team and enterprise users. Claude can incorporate users’ preferences, ongoing project backgrounds, and key priorities into each response. Previously, Anthropic introduced a feature for Claude AI that allowed paid users to manually prompt Claude to remember past conversations. The launch of this new feature will make interactions with Claude more convenient and improve work efficiency.
The memory function of Claude is not limited to chat records; it can also extend to projects. This means that professional users and teams can generate charts, website designs, graphics, and other content based on uploaded files, greatly facilitating their work. Anthropic states that this memory function primarily focuses on work-related details, such as ‘team workflows’ and ‘client requirements.’ Furthermore, Anthropic emphasizes that the memory function is ‘completely optional,’ allowing users to decide whether to enable it based on their needs.
Users can also view and edit the memories stored by Claude through the settings menu. According to Anthropic’s explanation of Claude AI’s new feature: automatic memory of chat content, Claude will adjust the referenced memories based on user instructions to better meet user needs. Notably, competitors OpenAI and Google have also launched similar cross-chat memory features to enhance user experience. For example, OpenAI’s ChatGPT Enterprise version also has similar functionality.
In addition to the memory feature, Anthropic’s new feature for Claude AI: automatic memory of chat content, has also introduced a private chat mode for all users. In private chat mode, Claude will not save chat records and will not mention this content in future conversations. This feature is similar to Google’s Gemini private chat feature launched in August, aimed at protecting user privacy.
Through these updates, Anthropic aims to enhance Claude’s intelligence, making it more practical and convenient for work, further strengthening its competitiveness in the artificial intelligence market.
