Multiple regional legal tech groups, including ELTA, ALITA in the Asia-Pacific, and AB2L in Brazil, have formed a global alliance for innovation called AI2L. As a long-time supporter of the innovation ecosystem, Artificial Lawyer’s founder will join the new alliance’s advisory board.
The aim is to bring together multiple organisations that promote and support legal innovation to create a more joined up, worldwide platform. The founding members are:
AB2L – Brazilian Legal Tech Association
ALITA – Asia-Pacific Legal Innovation & Technology Association
ELTA – European Legal Technology Association
APLT – Portuguese Legal Tech Association

At a legal innovation event this week at Mishcon de Reya in London – organised by Marcelo Moura, UK AI2L Ambassador – Daniel Marques, Director of Brazil’s AB2L, announced the formation of the new initiative.
He explained that: ‘AI2L is a worldwide alliance connecting legal innovation ecosystems across different countries. It promotes the exchange of solutions, technology development, regulatory transformation, and the training of legal leaders.
‘This initiative brings together legal tech companies, law firms, investors, public institutions, universities, associations, movements, conferences, and research centres committed to transforming law and society.’
Advisory board members include:
Brian Tang – ALITA – Hong Kong
Marisa Borsboom – ELTA
Shreya Vajpei – ILTN (Indian Legal Tech Network)
Daniel Marques, Director of AB2L
And, Richard Tromans, Founder, Artificial Lawyer.
The grouping has only just formed and clearly there will be opportunities for other regional organisations around the world to join as well.
As Artificial Lawyer often notes, the legal innovation ecosystem is global, so an alliance like this, which supports a worldwide approach, is very welcome and this site is proud to support it.
