Apple has expanded its personal intelligence system to India, bringing Apple Intelligence features to users through iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, and macOS Sequoia 15.4. The update introduces multiple tools that enhance writing, photo editing, and communication while maintaining Apple’s focus on privacy protection.
Writing Tools, Clean Up, ChatGPT-integrated Siri, and other Apple Intelligence features
Indian users can now access Writing Tools for proofreading and summarizing text, Clean Up for removing unwanted objects from photos, and creative features like Image Playground and Genmoji. The system also includes ChatGPT integration with Siri and visual intelligence capabilities.
Apple Intelligence brings priority notifications that highlight urgent messages, natural language photo search capabilities, and Visual Intelligence that helps users learn about objects and places in their surroundings. The Notes app receives Image Wand, which can transform rough sketches into polished images.
The ChatGPT integration provides additional capabilities without requiring users to switch between applications. By default, this integration doesn’t require a ChatGPT account, and Apple ensures user IP addresses are obscured to prevent session linking when using the service.
With this expansion, Apple continues its push into AI services while maintaining its privacy-first approach that distinguishes it from competitors in the field.
Apple’s focus in on privacy with AI features
Apple Intelligence relies primarily on on-device processing, with many AI models running directly on users’ devices. For more complex requests requiring larger models, the company uses Private Cloud Compute to extend privacy protection into the cloud environment.
The system represents “an extraordinary step forward for privacy in AI,” according to the announcement. Apple has implemented independent expert verification, allowing outside specialists to inspect server code to continuously verify privacy claims.
