Thomas adds that she considers herself to be incredibly privileged to live in Lethbridge and represent the hardworking, innovative and generous people of the region. However, she says there have been plenty of hardships they have endured in recent years.

Thomas says she and the rest of the Conservative Party are working very hard to advocate for a change at the top, with the hopes of getting Pierre Polievre elected as the next Prime Minister of Canada in the 2025 Federal Election.

A major area of focus for Thomas and the rest of the Conservative Party of Canada is affordability, and the abolition of the carbon tax, which Thomas says is affecting residents very negatively. She also says there needs to be more transperency and accountability coming from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, especially regarding government spending.

“So a big part of my job this year has been to fight for change. Part of that has been Axe the Tax, of course the Conservatives were very much against the carbon tax, its driving up the cost for everyone. Another part of what I’ve been fighting for is greater transparency around government spending and where dollars are going. We’ve found other scenarios where money is being given to the friends of Trudeau, and that’s wrong. Canadians deserve better.”

Thomas further elaborated,

She says those issues, along with crime reduction and community safety, are priorities she has very often heard coming from the people of Lethbridge.

“We want to build homes. We want to fix the budget. We want to stop the crime. We want to restore hope for the future of this great country and the wonderful people who call it home. “

Heading into the new year and preparing for the federal election, Thomas added that her and her team are hard at work putting together a strong group of people and volunteers.

“I’ll be building a volunteer team of people who will help me do that. Of course, it takes several hundred individuals to be able to win an election, to run it effectively. And so I’ll be recruiting those individuals and training those individuals, and then we’ll be getting ready to run hard.”

Thomas says, as a nonpartisan office her door is open to anyone who comes in needing assistance, and she will listen to those who come in.
