Stellantis and the AI firm Mistral AI announced a significant milestone in their partnership during Italian Tech Week on Wednesday, aiming to accelerate the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) across the automaker’s operations.
This expanded collaboration includes the establishment of an Innovation Lab and a Transformation Academy, designed to integrate AI into Stellantis’ business processes, enhancing efficiency and improving the customer experience. The two companies have been working together for the past 18 months, during which they have developed AI solutions for in-car assistants, business workflows, and engineering applications.

Ned Curic, Stellantis Chief Engineering & Technology Officer, stated on the company’s website, “Together, [Stellantis and Mistral AI] are shaping intelligent, adaptable systems that bring real value to our customers and help Stellantis stay ahead.”
The Innovation Lab will focus on co-developing highly customized AI solutions to address complex use cases, particularly in sales and after-sales support. Meanwhile, the Transformation Academy will promote the adoption of AI across the organization, moving prototypes into production and launching new initiatives that deliver measurable business impact.
This initiative aims to empower sales and after-sales teams with AI-driven insights, enabling them to personalize customer interactions and support informed decision-making. The company will use AI to enhance efficiency, accelerate development, and promote innovation.
Stellantis’ broader ambition is to leverage distributed intelligence as a competitive advantage by integrating AI into its operations rather than treating it as a separate tool. Executives at Stellantis emphasized that this effort will strengthen the company’s long-term leadership in mobility and set a benchmark for intelligent transformation in complex industries.
