Sam Altman-led OpenAI shared three advertisements promoting its flagship AI bot ChatGPT. The ads are surprisingly not made on any of its native AI tools or seem to be enhanced by one. They would have bragged about it, had they produced one with prompts. So what’s cooking at the OpenAI HQs these days? The company is pitching ChatGPT to users with some common use cases, primarily targeted towards younger audiences.

Ad #1 Goals with ChatGPT

OpenAI promises to help users with their personal or professional goals. The advert shows a young man in pursuit of physical fitness. The user asks ChatGPT “I want to feel stronger. Help me do some pull-ups by fall.” The AI generates a fitness regime for the user as depicted in the ad, with some additional tips. ChatGPT hypes up the lad stating, “Okay, let’s get after it. You’ll be repping 10 by fall.”

Ad # 2 First Impressions with ChatGPT

This advertisement shows a couple on their first dinner date, with the lad trying to win over. The user asks ChatGPT, “I need a recipe that says, “I like you but want to play it cool.” ChatGPT obliges with recipes along with why it would work. The bot hypes up the user remarking, “All in all, this should make for a chill, intimate Friday night that feels like you really tried just the right amount.”

Ad # 3 Spontaneity with ChatGPT

The third advert features a brother making a sunrise break trip with sister with the help of ChatGPT. Watch the video in the embedded tweets below.

Sharing the advertisement tweet on her X profile, Kate Rouch , the Chief Marketing Officer at OpenAI quipped,

Reactions poured in with a few users applauding the advertisements and others sharing their skepticism. One user remarked, “Team cooked with these 10/10.” Another user wrote, “this is a surprisingly human ad for such an inhuman corporation. am i allowed to tell GPT I ‘killed myself’ working out, or will that immediately trigger the babysitter system and lock me out of the paid model?”

A third user jibed, “All of these use cases are better accomplished with a Google search. You’ve killed what made ChatGPT a compelling product.”

Yet another user opined the same, “Don’t turn artificial intelligence into a soulless search engine; that’s what Google is for.”

Another commented, “Are you seriously posting this right now? You are the most tone deaf company ever.”

One user slammed OpenAI stating, “somehow you are finding new ways to suck EVEN MORE! it is astonishing at this point! how are you doing it? do you have a specialist team that learns new ways for you to suck more effectively?”

Team really cooked with these. 10/10

Don’t turn artificial intelligence into a soulless search engine; that’s what Google is for. People grow more easily and become stronger when they have emotional support, and that’s exactly what 4o provides! #4oforever #keep4o

Are you seriously posting this right now? You are the most tone deaf company ever, you destroyed your product and the trust of loyal paying users with the auto re routing and now your posting this like all is well, you deserve to go bankrupt. #keep4o #keep4oforever
