Google’s Nano Banana AI model is all over the internet, especially social media platforms. Meanwhile, before this AI model was in the headlines, people went crazy over the ChatGPT Ghibli trend which was also in the headlines. Google’s Flash Image Model 2.5, also known as Nano Banana AI model, is being used to generate all kinds of images.

However, to make the Nano Banana AI even more accessible, AI startup Perplexity AI has brought it to WhatsApp. This has made the Image generation AI model to WhatsApp, which has a significant user base in India and abroad. Moreover, Meta AI, presently used by WhatsApp, is also not on the same level as Gemini or Nano Banana.

Perplexity announced that users will be able to use the Nano Banana engine on WhatsApp. The AI startup has brought Google’s Gemini 2.5 Flash engine to the Perplexity bot on WhatsApp. In an X post, the company claimed that users can now use the “highest-quality model” directly on the Meta-owned platform. Aravind Srinivas, co-founder and CEO of Perplexity, reshared the post on X.

How to use Nano Banana on WhatsApp

Users no longer need to go to Gemini or Google AI Studio to use Nano Banana. To use the AI engine on WhatsApp, you need to chat with the Perplexity AI bot on the app. Individuals should, however, save +1 (833) 436-3285, which is Perplexity’s number on WhatsApp.

After starting a conversation, you can send an image and give a prompt of your choice. Nano Banana works best with detailed prompts and generates accurate images. Be it the iconic saree trend or 4K retro portraits, the model will produce the same images as it does directly on Google’s apps.

Prompt Examples:

“A close-up, professionally composed photograph showcasing a hand-crocheted yarn doll gently cradled by two hands. The doll has a rounded shape, featuring the cute chibi image of the [upload image] character, with vivid contrasting colors and rich details. The hands holding the doll are natural and gentle, with clearly visible finger postures, and natural skin texture and light/shadow transitions, conveying a warm and realistic touch. The background is slightly blurred, depicting an indoor environment with a warm wooden tabletop and natural light streaming in from a window, creating a comfortable and intimate atmosphere. The overall image conveys a sense of exquisite craftsmanship and cherished warmth.”

Is Nano Banana on WhatsApp free?

In the announcement, Perplexity did not specify whether you can use Nano Banana through its bot on WhatsApp for free. However, Google does provide limited free usage for the engine, with paid subscribers getting greater access. This could likely be the case with the Perplexity bot, too.

India has the highest usage of Nano Banana according to Google, with the Gemini app topping the charts on Apple’s App Store and Google Play. The access to Nano Banana on WhatsApp will likely lead to even more users trying their hands on this trend.
