The logic of search has changed, and traffic growth requires a new approach. In the past, we focused on SEO, aiming to rank web pages highly in search engines, using keywords, backlinks, and technical optimization to secure a spot on the ‘homepage’. However, AI has quietly rewritten user search habits. More and more people are directly asking platforms like Tencent Yuanbao, Wenxin Yiyan, DeepSeek, and Doubao, rather than clicking through multiple web pages to find answers.

This means that the entry point for traffic is shifting from ‘link clicks’ to ‘citations in AI responses’.

For content creators, brands, and businesses, those who can appear in AI’s answers will seize the future’s ‘new traffic dividend’.

This is the significance of GEO (Generative Engine Optimization). Today, let’s discuss practical techniques that can help you increase traffic and gain more exposure in the era of AI search.

1. Five Key Techniques for AI Traffic Growth

1. Write Content in a Q&A Format

The way users ask questions is the entry point for AI. For example:

“What is the difference between GEO and SEO?”

“How can I get my content recommended by DeepSeek?”

If your article contains similar subheadings or FAQs, AI will be more likely to quote them directly.

Practical method:

Add a ‘Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)’ section at the end of each article.

Try to mimic the real users’ search patterns and write questions in natural language.

Keep answers concise and accurate, starting with a summary sentence, followed by elaboration.

2. Use a ‘Summary + Bullet Points’ Structure

AI does not favor long paragraphs but prefers to extract key points. Thus, articles that are easiest to quote often follow this writing style:

Start with a concluding statement (summary).

Then expand on each point using bullet points.

Example:

“The key points for AI traffic search growth are three: first, clear structure; second, authoritative and credible; third, semantic matching.”

Then elaborate on each point below.

This structure not only helps readers absorb information quickly but also aligns with AI’s extraction logic.

3. Add Structured Information (Metadata)

It’s not just about the text itself; you also need to embed points in the content to make it easier for AI to understand.

Practical method:

If it’s website content, use Schema to mark FAQs, article authors, and company information.

Clearly include time, source, and definitions in the article. For example, “GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) was first proposed in 2023.”

For public account articles, you can also clarify ‘what/why/how’ directly in the subheadings.

4. Continuous Monitoring and Iteration

Many people finish an article and leave it at that, but GEO is a process that requires continuous optimization.

Practical method:

Regularly input your concerns into Tencent Yuanbao, Wenxin Yiyan, and DeepSeek to see if AI has quoted your content.

If not, analyze the answer structure and adjust your article to align more closely with AI’s answer logic.

Pay attention to whether the content is ‘outdated’, as AI tends to favor the latest data and information.

2. Seizing Practical Opportunities with AI Enterprises

Large models are developing rapidly:

Baidu Wenxin Yiyan has integrated search advertising, indicating that branded content has the opportunity to be directly ’embedded’ into AI responses.

Zhizhu Qingyan and DeepSeek are experiencing rapid user growth, and their answer systems will increasingly be relied upon by users.

This means for content creators and businesses:

We are currently in a phase of ‘low competition + high dividends’.

Those who can get their content into AI’s recommendation pool first will lock in user recognition early.

3. Action Recommendations for Content Creators

Don’t just focus on SEO rankings.

In the era of AI search, relying solely on Google or Baidu’s blue link traffic is no longer sufficient.

Write content with GEO thinking.

With every article, ask yourself: Can this article be used by AI as an answer?

Emphasize brand endorsement.

Clearly state the brand and author identity within the content to increase authority and improve the likelihood of AI quoting it.

Transform traffic into recognition.

GEO traffic might not be ‘clicks’, but ‘mentions’. This exposure should be converted into brand recognition, and then form a closed loop through guiding actions (such as inquiries or following public accounts).

4. New Traffic Logic, New Growth Methods

The era of SEO is not over, but it is no longer the only growth method. With the popularization of AI search, GEO will become the core capability for future traffic growth.

If you wish to continue achieving stable growth in the next three years, you must quickly master this new logic:

Write content in a structure that AI likes;

Provide authoritative, credible, data-backed ‘hard goods’;

Continuously monitor and optimize;

Combine GEO with large model platforms for operation.

Future brand competition will not just be about ‘who can be found by users’, but ‘who can become an answer for AI’.返回搜狐,查看更多
