‘I shot my shot’: Young techie applies to be OpenAI CEO, the company’s response will surprise you – Trending News

A young tech enthusiast, Ömer Öztok, recently did something most people would not even dream of: applying to become the CEO of OpenAI.

Yes, OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT and some of the world’s most advanced AI models. The job was not open, but that did not stop him.

Why did he apply to the position?

Öztok explained his vision for the company’s future. His first move? Replacing the entire executive team with ChatGPT agents, except, of course, for the CEO role, which he planned to keep for herself.

He did not stop there. Öztok also proposed poaching Meta’s entire AI team by offering them lifetime subscriptions to ChatGPT Plus. Then came a wild plan to acquire Google just for the name. And to top it all off, he suggested training GPT-6 entirely on her own tweets.

Öztok sent it off with confidence. “I shot my shot,” he posted online afterward.

What was the response from OpenAI?

A few days later, OpenAI actually responded. The reply was professional, polite and clearly a little alarmed. The company said they admired his enthusiasm, but some of her ideas had raised concern, calling his proposal to replace the leadership team “apocalyptic” and flagging his plan to lure Meta’s staff as legally “disruptive.”

They ended the letter by saying they had decided to go with a more traditional candidate, someone who, among other things, did not ask for 50% of the company.

He was not discouraged.Öztok posted the rejection with pride, saying, “That’s alright. One day, I’ll overtake OpenAI. Just watch.”

‘Well, it is their loss’

Netizens responded to the letter from OpenAI and the attitude of the young aspirant. A user noted, “This is a essentially a copy of the Nike CEO application rejection from a week ago.” Another added, “Chin up, maybe try Tesla.”

“He should propose a cost saving strategy by being crowned techno king and only earn 1 billion annually and no longer hurt the brand by doing nothing at all. I dont think it would be possible to refuse such an offer,”opined a netizen. “I legitimately almost passed out from laughing so hard, i had to focus on not dying while laughing,” wrote a user.

“The job market nowadays is insane. Can’t even be the CEO of OpenAI without like years of experience,” stated another user. “I love how the response letter was clearly written by ChatGPT,” noted another netizen.
