Fresh off a $20 million Series A fund round, Bluefish pitches itself as the marketing platform for the generative internet, according to its funding pitch deck obtained by ADWEEK. The startup helps brands influence how they show up on AI interfaces like ChatGPT, tweak content for better results, and measure the impact of those optimizations.
Generative AI is changing how people find information online. Instead of typing queries into a box and scrolling through blue links, people are increasingly getting answer summaries directly from AI search engines. According to Gartner estimates, search volume will shrink 25% by 2026 as people rely more on AI-generated answers. For publishers and brands, that means a new competition for attention and figuring out how to show up in these results. A crop of startups, including Bluefish and Profound, have emerged to help brands secure visibility in AI-driven search results.
About 80% of Bluefish’s clients are Fortune 500 brands, including Adidas, Omnicom, and Tishman Speyer, using the platform to influence how they show up across Google’s AI search, OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Amazon, and Perplexity, per the pitch deck.
The $20 million Series A, announced in August, was led by NEA and included Salesforce Ventures, Crane Venture Partners, Swift Ventures, and Bloomberg Beta. The company’s total funding is $25 million just a year after launch.
