Google has just heated up the AI race!!. Sundar Pichai has just announced that the company is offering Veo 3 access for free to all users. This strategy by Google aims to penetrate the huge untapped Indian Market by allowing users to access the AI Model Veo 3. The announcement, although came as a shock to industry experts but some of them say it was much needed, keeping in mind the intense competition from other AI models.

What is Veo 3?

Veo 3 is Google’s AI video generation platform that lets users generate videos with a clearly mentioned prompt. The Model is the company’s most advanced video model to date and the first capable of generating not only visuals but also synchronised audio—everything from dialogue and background music to footsteps and ambient soundscapes it was launched by Google just this year in May at its Annual conference.

Veo 3 also produces audio and dialogue. It doesn’t just offer photorealism, but fully realized soundscapes and conversations to go along with videos. It can also maintain consistent characters in different video clips, and users can fine-tune camera angles, framing, and movements in entirely new ways. On social media, many users are dumbfounded by the results.

How long is Veo 3 Free?

The AI video generation model from Google is available to users in India for free till Monday, 25th August 2025. The model can be accessed by all free users in India till 10 PM (Indian Standard Time) after which nobody will be able to access it for free. Additionally, the Veo 3 can be accessed by new users for a duration of one month as a free trial.

Additionally, the Veo 3 subscription plan is bundled with the Gemini AI subscription model, which costs Rs. 1,999 per month for users in India. However, students are getting a one-year subscription of the AI Gemini plan completely free for 1 year after verification of their school or college I’d.

Why is Veo 3 free?

Google is hoping users will get a taste of what Veo 3 can do and, crucially, provide feedback. Pichai described the move as part of Google’s ongoing commitment to expand its creative tools, hinting that user input will play a key role in future updates.

And for those who’ve ever wanted to direct their own short film without the cameras, crew or budget, this might just be the perfect chance. As Google puts it, Veo 3 is designed to “transform how users create and share media.”

In Pichai’s words, the aim is simple to open up creative opportunities for a wider audience. For Google, it’s also a clever marketing move—put Veo 3 in the hands of as many people as possible and let its capabilities speak for themselves.
