Google has rolled out a powerful and fun new features part of its Gemini Apps, enabling users to generate short videos simply by describing their concepts or uploading an existing image. Utilising the Veo 3 AI model, this new feature aims to make creative work a lot easier and makes the AI video generation tool a lot more accessible.

According to information from Google Support, the AI-powered video generation capability is now accessible on computers, Android phones, and iPhones. Access to this feature is based on subscription plans. Personal account users require a Google AI Pro or Google AI Ultra subscription to utilise the video generation tool. For those with work or school accounts, a qualifying Workspace license is necessary.

Google has implemented limits on the number of videos users can create, with Google AI Ultra subscribers benefiting from higher generation allowances. The company also states that Gemini Apps reserves the right to remove any videos that violate Google’s Terms of Service or Prohibited Use Policy, ensuring responsible use of the AI tool.

How to use the video generation feature in Gemini:

On Computer:Go to gemini.google.com in your web browser.

Click the dedicated video icon (often resembling a film strip or play button).

Enter a detailed text prompt describing the video you want to create. You can also upload a photo to use as a starting point for your video.

On Android phones and iPhones:Open the Gemini Apps on your mobile device.

Look for the video icon within the interface.

Enter your text prompt or select a photo from your gallery to generate a video.

The generated videos are approximately 8 seconds in length and typically take 1 to 2 minutes to produce. Hene, you might need to wait before getting the desired result.

Availability and access:

Access to this Google Gemini feature is based on subscription plans.

For personal Google accounts, users must have a Google AI Pro or Google AI Ultra subscription to utilise the video generation tool.

For work or school accounts, a qualifying Workspace license is necessary to access this functionality.

Additionally, the feature is available is most countries where Google’s AI Pro subscription is present. Google says that the feature is not available in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom for now.
