International law firm Pinsent Masons and ContractPodAi (CPAi) have expanded their partnership. The CLM company’s genAI assistant Leah will be applied to the work of the firm’s managed legal services offering and they will also co-develop ‘AI-driven solutions for inhouse teams’.
It’s one of a series of partnerships that CPAi has made that leverages its AI capabilities, as it steadily expands above and beyond ‘traditional’ CLM areas of work.
The move, which is building upon an existing collaboration, will include ‘joint investments in developing advanced AI-driven solutions for inhouse teams, such as rights management, contract performance analytics, and other applications that enhance legal and contracting capabilities at scale’, they said.
The goal? To ‘help inhouse legal departments reduce complexity, surface insights, and improve operational efficiency through AI-driven automation’, they added. And that sounds good to AL.
Mike McGlinchey, Head of Legal Technology Consulting at Pinsent Masons Vario, said: ‘For Pinsent Masons, this partnership reinforces our ongoing commitment to enhancing the delivery of legal advice, transactions and dispute resolution – seamlessly integrated with the broader suite of professional services needed by today’s in-house legal teams.’
Anurag Malik, President and Chief Technology Officer at ContractPodAi, added: ‘This partnership marks a significant step forward for ContractPodAi and the evolution of legal services. Pinsent Masons shares our commitment to practical and scalable innovation. By combining their legal expertise with the power of our Leah platform, we’re helping law firms and in-house teams alike simplify complexity, uncover insights, and deliver greater value to the businesses they support.’
Is this a big deal? Well, whenever there is an opportunity to streamline workflows then there is an equal opportunity to deploy AI to improve them further. The joint consulting offering to inhouse teams is also interesting, as it will drive revenue for CPAi in terms of getting new clients onboard, and generate fees for Pinsents beyond regular legal work.
