How To Find The Next Nvidia

A new bull market is taking shape—and it’s powered by artificial intelligence. While many investors remain cautious amid global headlines and inflation fears, market experts are pointing to one undeniable force driving stocks to record highs: the productivity revolution enabled by AI.

How investors should capitalize on the AI fueled bull marketHow investors should capitalize on the AI fueled bull market

Much like the internet in the 1990s, AI has become the catalyst for a new era of innovation.

According to market veteran and Zor Capital portfolio manager Joe Fahmy, the current rally that began in late 2022 is not only sustainable—it could have years left to run.

The Tech-Driven Rally: Lessons from Market History

History shows that every major bull market has been ignited by a breakthrough innovation. Railroads in the 1920s, television in the 1950s, the internet in the 1990s—all radically improved productivity and reshaped economies. Today, AI is doing the same.

“This is a productivity story,” Fahmy said. “AI is revolutionizing how we work, communicate, and analyze information. That kind of innovation doesn’t just fuel a rally—it changes the game for the long term.”

The comparison is clear: Just as the Netscape browser lit a fire under the tech sector in 1995, tools like ChatGPT—now with over 100 million users in just two months—are transforming how businesses operate and how consumers interact with technology.

Is It Too Late to Buy?

With the market trading near record highs and the “Magnificent 7” mega-cap tech stocks dominating headlines, many retail investors wonder if they’ve missed the boat. But Fahmy urges a different mindset.

“Moves often go longer and higher than expected,” he said. “Don’t be afraid to buy at highs if the fundamentals support it.”

He points out that institutional investors are still underexposed, with many sitting on the sidelines due to earlier fears about tariffs or a recession that never arrived. As a result, the market remains resilient—buoyed by strong consumer spending, robust earnings, and ongoing investment in AI infrastructure.

Where the Smart Money Is Going

While Nvidia continues to dominate headlines—up dramatically from its split-adjusted lows—Fahmy notes a broader opportunity beyond just chipmakers.

Top Sectors to Watch:

Big Tech & AI Infrastructure: Microsoft and Meta continue to expand AI spending through capital expenditures with Nvidia being the main beneficiary.Semiconductors: ETFs like SMH (which holds Nvidia, Broadcom, and TSMC) offer diversified exposure without single-stock risk.Retail & Restaurants: Consumer-facing names like Texas Roadhouse and Shake Shack are showing strength as travel and leisure boom.Energy & Utilities: Demand for AI data centers is driving up energy usage, creating a bullish backdrop for traditional power and grid infrastructure.

Risk Management and Investor Psychology

Even in a bull market, volatility is part of the game. Fahmy expects a potential pullback in late summer, pointing to historical weakness in August and September.

But he emphasizes mindset over market timing: “The market is the only place where when things go on sale, people panic instead of buying. If you’re in this for the long haul, use corrections as buying opportunities.”

He also stresses the importance of discipline in an era of social media-driven hype and FOMO.

“You can’t own everything,” Fahmy said. “Chasing every hot stock leads to overexposure and confusion. Stick to strong fundamentals—earnings and sales growth still drive stock performance.”

Advice for Every Investor

Whether you’re 25 or 65, your portfolio should reflect your time horizon and risk tolerance.

Younger investors (20s–30s): Consider staying fully invested in equities. Fahmy recommends growth-oriented strategies and ETFs like SPY or QQQ.Mid-career investors (40s–50s): Begin diversifying with a mix of equities and income-generating assets like dividend stocks or bonds.Near retirement (60s+): Reduce equity exposure and take advantage of higher interest rates by holding CDs or Treasuries yielding over 4%.

And if you’re wondering whether you need hedges like gold? Fahmy believes a well-diversified index fund already provides exposure to defensive sectors and international markets.

Don’t Let the Headlines Scare You

While news headlines can rattle nerves—be it tariffs, Middle East tensions, or economic data—Fahmy urges investors to focus on market reaction, not the news itself.

“The market is incredibly resilient,” he said. “Corrections will come. Scares will happen. But the AI productivity boom is just getting started.”

AI Is the New Internet—And We’re Still Early

As investors look back on the early days of the internet, many now regret not betting bigger on companies like Amazon or Google. The rise of generative AI offers a similar window of opportunity.

“This could be bigger than the internet,” Fahmy said. “It’s not just a hype cycle—it’s a full-scale transformation.”

INVESTOR TAKEAWAYS:

AI is driving a multi-year bull market fueled by productivity gains.Market resilience is being supported by under-positioned institutions and strong consumer demand.Top investment opportunities include AI infrastructure, energy, semiconductors, and consumer retail.Volatility is inevitable—focus on long-term fundamentals and proper risk management.Use ETFs or individual stocks depending on your risk tolerance; discipline is key.
