Perplexity’s AI browser Comet coming to Windows soon, says CEO

Perplexity’s AI-powered browser, Comet, is getting ready to land on more devices. The company’s CEO Aravind Srinivas posted on X (formerly Twitter) that a Windows version of the browser is now ready, and early testers have already started receiving invites.

Windows build is also ready. And few invites have been sent for early testers. Android build is also moving at a crazy pace and moving ahead of schedule. iOS updates soon. https://t.co/qwmd3QpqVn

The move comes just weeks after the company launched the browser in beta for Mac users with Apple Silicon.

Srinivas also teased a possible Android version in the works, noting that development was “moving at a crazy pace and ahead of schedule.”

Comet, described as an “agentic search” browser, integrates AI features that allow users to ask questions, search emails, and find discounts in shopping carts. One of the more playful features is “Try on,” where users can upload a selfie and see how they’d look in different outfits.

Despite growing interest, the browser remains in waitlist mode with no confirmed launch date. Srinivas had hinted earlier this month at a broader rollout, though no timeline has been made public.

Comet has already drawn scrutiny over privacy concerns. During a podcast, Srinivas suggested the browser could gather data beyond its app to improve personalisation.

After backlash, he clarified the statement on X, saying the remark was taken out of context and promised that users would have the choice to opt out of targeted ads.
