Songtsam Resorts, a boutique hotel chain known for its lodges and retreats across Tibet and Yunnan, has launched a clothing collection with design inspiration taken from Tibet’s sacred Namtso Lake.
Designed in collaboration with adventure apparel brand Arc’teryx, the Namtso Blue collection features a bold range of jackets that blend performance, style and cultural significance.
“Every detail of this collection draws inspiration from Tibetan heritage and breathtaking natural beauty of the region,” said Florence Li, Vice President, Director of International Sales & Marketing at Songtsam Resorts. “Exploring the geography of Tibet is just as spiritual as it is a physical one, so we wanted to design outerwear that embodies a true sense of place, which is why we drew inspiration from the sacred Namtso Lake.”

A deep blue color palette, the jackets were designed to “channel the natural rhythms of the region” and the vibrant hues “draw directly from the lake’s vivid palette.”
Colors shift from sky blue to royal blues to navy, reflecting the ever-changing landscape throughout the day. A flowing rope knot emblem is featured on the the left sleeve of the jacket, symbolizing vitality and interconnection to echo the wisdom of Tibetan nomadic culture.
The jackets are made from a lightweight and breathable water-resistant shell for free flowing movement and protection against the elements. The materials are selected to meet the demands of alpine environments, ensuring that wearers are protected and comfortable during their outdoor pursuits.

Marking four years of seamless partnerships between the Canadian outdoor brand and the Tibetan luxury hotel group, the Namtso Blue collection “represents a meaningful evolution in highland-inspired design that unites craftsmanship, cultural heritage and the natural world,” according to the brands. Jackets are exclusively available to purchase at Songtsam’s boutique lodges, Linka retreats and glamping sites.
Set at 4,700 meters above sea level, Namtso Lake is also known as the “Heavenly Lake” and holds profound spiritual significance in Tibetan culture as a symbol of life, prosperity and interconnectedness. The brands introduced Namtso Blue as a testament to connections between people and places that grow — rather than diminish — with time.
