Samsung Launches AI-Powered Coding Assistant, Expands AI Ecosystem

Samsung Electronics is gearing up to launch its AI-powered coding assistant, Cline, aimed at boosting productivity and accelerating AI integration across its operations. The Korean tech giant is set to roll out Cline, which has already been vetted in beta testing within the Device eXperience (DX) division managing mobile devices, televisions, and home appliances.

Scheduled for a July debut, Cline stands out from earlier coding tools, handling sophisticated development tasks with natural language instructions. This evolution not only speeds up development processes but also enhances efficiency.

Moreover, Samsung is not resting on its laurels. The creation of an AI productivity innovation group within the DX division underscores the company’s commitment to an AI-driven transformation. This group will focus on establishing enterprise-wide AI systems and infrastructure while promoting AI tools across Samsung’s departments.

In March 2024, Samsung joined forces with Nvidia to advance AI-driven Radio Access Network (AI-RAN) technologies. This partnership aims to diversify computing platforms and solidify a scalable AI ecosystem by leveraging NVIDIA’s expertise in GPU-accelerated computing. A significant milestone in this collaboration was a demonstration showcasing the interoperability between Samsung’s O-RAN-compliant virtualized RAN and Nvidia’s accelerated computing platform.

At the Mobile World Congress 2025, Samsung provided live demonstrations of AI-RAN innovations such as AI-driven physical uplink shared channel estimation. These advancements result from the collaborative efforts within the AI-RAN Alliance, which Samsung co-founded, aimed at optimizing AI-RAN configurations for varied deployment environments.

According to June Moon, executive vice president and head of R&D at Samsung’s networks business, “While AI is reshaping the telecommunications landscape, Samsung is helping operators to build the right network architecture and environment where AI can thrive, all powered by our proven and AI-powered vRAN.” This statement signifies the company’s ongoing efforts to expand both the GPU and CPU ecosystem, exploring future possibilities in AI-driven networks.
