A leader in AI-powered customer service automation has relocated its U.S. headquarters from California to North Texas.

Düsseldorf, Germany-based Cognigy has picked Plano as its new home in the United States, leaving its prior U.S. headquarters in San Francisco. Cognigy joins a growing number of companies relocating to North Texas, with many coming from places like California, such as Resource Connection, Inc.

“Easily deploy AI Agents in your contact center to deliver fast, personalized, and exceptional service your customers demand and deserve,” reads a description of Cognigy’s services on their website.

In a statement, Cognigy said the move to North Texas coincides with the company’s deepening of “its commitment to the U.S. market and accelerates hiring in one of the country’s fastest-growing tech hubs,” per Dallas Innovates.

Co-Founder and CEO Philipp Heltewig said, “Dallas offers the perfect mix of innovation, energy, and opportunity.”

“We’ve built a strong U.S. presence over the past seven years, and relocating our headquarters to Dallas brings us closer to top enterprise customers, a rich talent pool, and a community that shares our forward-looking mindset,” Heltewig continued.

Cognigy specializes in integrating generative and conversational artificial intelligence to produce smarter customer service agents. The company is partnered with over 1,000 global brands, including Toyota, Nestle, DHL, and Mercedes-Benz.

Cognigy echoed the sentiment of other companies who have relocated to the region, saying they were drawn to North Texas for its “central location, business-friendly environment, and growing reputation as a center for innovation.”

To help settle in, the AI-focused firm is actively looking for local talent to fill vacant roles. As of April 17, the company had three open positions listed on their website for Dallas: Senior Channel Marketing Manager, Technical Support Specialist, and Senior Solutions Architect.

Cognigy has been busy in 2025, also opening new offices in Berlin, Amsterdam, and London. The company says it is attempting to respond to the growing appetite for its AI agent platform.

“As others pull back, we’re leaning in… We’re building a team that’s ready to define the future of customer experience, and Dallas is a great place to do it,” said Heltewig.
